About Us

Dear Patients, Friends and Colleagues:

Stanley ChangSight is often taken for granted when we enjoy a good book, or when we admire a beautiful work of art. Unfortunately when vision is lost, the impact on our daily functioning can be very significant. Our team of physicians and scientists at the Edward Harkness Eye Institute is dedicated to understanding the causes of vision disorders, to preventing them, and to treating them should they occur. Our doctors and staff provide the best medical and surgical eye care available, with compassion and sensitivity to their patients' needs. There has also been a tradition of excellence in research that has brought new methods of treating eye diseases. Our faculties have been pioneers in the development of lasers, modern retinal surgery techniques and glaucoma drugs. We continue to seek new and better methods of preventing vision loss and all eye disorders. Our surgical suites are modern and staffed by seasoned nurses and anesthetists to ensure the best possible outcome after surgery.

An additional mission is to train the next generation of eye physicians (ophthalmologists) who will provide excellent care, and lead in their field. Doctors from all over the world are trained in new techniques and learn the skills of caring for each individual ophthalmic patient. We are extremely proud of our residency graduates for their outstanding clinical skills and personal qualities as physicians.

Maintaining high standards of excellence in clinical care and research also requires financial support. The generosity of our patients and friends continues to provide valuable support for our programs of research and education. We are most grateful to all those who have so generously given and thus made a commitment to continuing improvements and treatments in the field of eye care.

Sincerely,

Stanley Chang, MD, Chairman
